SUBJECT: ALGOR, INC., RESPONSE TO A NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 99901294/96-01)
Dear Mr. Bussler:
Thank you for your letter of May 24, 1996, in response to our letter dated May 3, 1996. We have reviewed your reply and find it responsive to the concerns raised in our Notice of Violation. Your attachment discusses revisions made to the Algor Procedures Manual, Section 7.3, "Qualipak Distribution," regarding the immediate distribution of Quality Assurance Bulletins (QABs) to all current subscribers.
However, the procedure should address customer notification within 5 days of the identification of a Class C error (the QAB is initiated as a result of the identification of a Class C error), since this is the point in time in which the deviation was identified. It is our understanding that the QAB follows sometime after the identification of the Class C error and usually contains a suggested work around to the deviation.
Please feel free to contact me or Robert L. Pettis, Jr., of my staff, should you wish to discuss this matter further. We may review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future inspection to determine that a full compliance has been achieved and will be maintained.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Gallo, Chief
