How to Save User Preferences

If you have preferences for Superview IV Results environment display options (such as the appearance of boundary conditions, forces, pressures and other FEA properties; part and mesh coloration; results displayed as lines or boxes; etc.), you can adjust both the current model properties and the default settings according to your needs by using the "Tools:Options..." command sequence (Figure 1) to access the "Options" dialog (Figure 2).

Click on the "Superview" tab in the "Options" dialog to access buttons for changing "Global FEA Objects Preferences...", "Individual FEA Objects Settings...", "Part And Mesh Color Preferences..." and "Results Preferences...". Each button opens a dialog enabling you to change the current model settings, default settings or both.

The "Global FEA Objects Preferences" dialog (Figure 3) provides toggles for hiding all FEA objects, slider controls for setting the display size of FEA objects and toggles for defining arrow directions.

Use the "Individual FEA Objects Preferences" dialog (Figure 4) to control the appearance of specific FEA objects including boundary conditions, forces, lumped masses and pressures. You can select each FEA object's display color, choose to display it or not using the "Show" toggles and, for some objects, use the "Magnitude scaling factor" slider control or entry field to specify the display scale.

The "Part And Mesh Color Preferences" dialog (Figure 5) provides options for using default part colors or user-specified colors for part, primary mesh and secondary mesh coloration.

Choices for displaying results as lines or boxes on line-based elements and fields for indicating the size of the lines or boxes are included in the "Results Preferences" dialog (Figure 6).
