How to Use Display Options for Individual Parts
In the Superview IV Results environment, options are available for controlling the display settings of individual parts to enhance
the evaluation and presentation of analysis results. By right clicking on parts in the tree view,
you will receive a pop-up menu of display options including:
- Show - display the selected part(s).
- Hide - do not display the selected part(s).
- Suppress Mesh - do not display the mesh on the selected part(s).
- Suppress Faces - do not display faces for the selected part(s).
- Suppress Results - do not display results for the selected part(s).
- Draw Transparently - display the selected part(s) as transparent (translucent).
- Transparency Level... - set the degree of transparency for all transparent parts.
As an example, consider the model shown in Figure 1, a nickel hydrogen hybrid fuel cell where the results of interest are on
parts within the casing. One way to view the interior parts would be to select the casing parts and use the "Hide" option to hide
the casing. However, for presentation purposes, it is desired to retain the display of the casing.

The "Suppress Mesh" and "Draw Transparently" options are activated for the casing parts as shown in Figure 2.
Then, the "Transparency Level..." command is used to easily set the degree of transparency for all casing parts
with a slider so that the interior parts can be seen within the
transparent casing (see Figure 3).

Additionally, the "Suppress Mesh" option is activated to display the casing without the mesh.

As another example, consider a lead acid battery model where it is desired to display analysis results on the
interior parts within the casing. As shown in Figure 4, the casing parts are displayed as transparent without the
mesh and without results. Thus, the temperature distribution on the interior parts can be seen.

These display capabilities for individual parts provide valuable options for viewing and presenting results,
particularly for complex assemblies.
