How to Specify a Background Image
Rather than just the default gradient background in the Superview IV Results environment, you can
specify an image (BMP, JPG, TIF, PNG, PCX or TGA format) to be used in the
background. For example, you might specify a background image showing:
- your company logo,
- a photograph of the device being analyzed,
- analysis results of a component displayed in front of a CAD drawing of
the entire assembly or
- any decorative image.
Figure 1 shows an example of a Superview IV Results environment model with a specified background
image of the ALGOR logo.

To specify a background image, use the following procedure:
- In the Superview IV Results environment, use the "Display Options:Background Image..."
command sequence (Figure 2). The "Background Bitmap" dialog
(Figure 3) will appear.
- Toggle the "Use background image" option to pop up an
"Open" dialog.
- Browse for the desired image file and specify its location by selecting it
and clicking on the "Open" button.
- When the "Background Bitmap" dialog reappears, click on
"Close" to display the background image.

Here are some additional considerations related to background images:
- On the "Background Bitmap" dialog, you can toggle the
"Include image in screen captures" option to specify whether to
include the background image in screen captures.
- The "Set Image Position" button on the "Background
Bitmap" dialog enables you to drag a positioning box and place it by
clicking your mouse to specify the location of the image on the screen.
- In addition to the Superview IV Results environment, the background image capability is available in
Superdraw and Supersurf. In these programs, an image can be placed in the
back and then traced using drawing tools in front as a model-building
technique.
For more information about specifying background images, see the ALGOR User's Guide.
