Unsteady (Transient) Fluid Flow
Unsteady fluid flow analysis provides for the simulation of incompressible, viscous flows as governed by the Navier-Stokes equations. It can be used to analyze flows that have not yet reached a steady condition.

This type of analysis supports both 2-D and 3-D flows.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Aerodynamic testing
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Contained-flow simulation
  • Cooling/heating system design
  • Drag reduction
  • Flows with obstructions
  • Fluid-solid interaction
  • Forced thermal convection
  • Gravity-driven flow analysis
  • Head loss
  • HVAC analysis
  • Hydrodynamic testing
  • Lubrication analysis
  • Piping system analysis
  • Plant startup studies
  • Residence time
  • Velocity profiling
  • Viscous flow
