PV/Designer enables engineers to quickly use templates to create parametric piping entities such as pressure vessels and intersecting pipes. Models can then be read directly into either ALGOR for analysis or a CAD system for further modification. With this software, pressure vessel designers in industries including chemical, petrochemical and power generation can evaluate compliance with industry standards such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
Our full range of simulation capabilities is available for pressure vessel models including static stress and Mechanical Event Simulation (MES) with linear and nonlinear material models, linear dynamics, steady-state and transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, electrostatics and full multiphysics.
Modeling- Automatic generation of common pressure vessel and piping component FEA models
- Automatic generation of plate/shell and solid meshes and trimmed surface IGES files of vessels, nozzles and heads based on dimensions and orientation of intersecting pipes
- Capability to create individual angular segments which can then be pieced together with other generated models in ALGOR or a CAD solid modeler
- Capability to exclude a secondary intersecting cylinder (nozzle) in the generated model to allow for the easy generation of models such as propane tanks or aerosol cans
- Capability to specify the angle between intersecting pipes
- Capability to generate tapered cylinders
- Capability to generate uniform and tapered nozzles
- Capability to generate multiple nozzles intersecting cylinders or any head for both plate/shell and solid meshes
