King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok Installs 99 Seats of ALGOR FEA Software
for Advanced Mechanical Engineering Education
PITTSBURGH, PA – July 10, 2002 – ALGOR, Inc., a leading maker of
software for mechanical engineers, recently announced the installation of 99
seats of ALGOR FEA software at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North
Bangkok (KMITNB) in Bangkok, Thailand to support the ongoing development of the
master's- and doctorate-level curricula for the Thai-German Graduate School of
Engineering (TGGS).
Dr. Saiprasit Koetniyom of KMITNB said, "A new course on
Simulation Techniques in Mechanical Engineering uses the ALGOR software with SolidWorks CAD software to teach Thai students real-world
mechanical engineering techniques using real industry tools. Plus,
the ALGOR FEA software will be used in research studies conducted with our
industrial partners in the coming years."
Included in the installation are ALGOR's Professional Multiphysics
core package for analyses involving structural, electrostatic, fluid
flow and thermal effects and the InCAD/SolidWorks Extender, which offers seamless data exchange with
the CAD program and provides full associativity with each design
change.
KMITNB is a high-ranking Thai university of technology
established in 1959 through cooperation between the Thai government
and the Federal Republic of Germany. The institute is currently
working with RWTH Aachen (the Aachen University of Technology) in
Aachen, Germany, to implement TGGS, which will include international
master's and doctoral degree programs in engineering that cooperate
with industrial partners to systematically train qualified Thai
engineers. Industrial leaders Siemens, Bayer and ABB – all German
companies with considerable business dealings in Thailand –
already support the TGGS initiative.
