Dr. John Raftoyiannis...
...holds
B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the
National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in
Athens, Greece. He also
holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in
Mechanical Engineering
with an emphasis in stability, composite materials and
computational mechanics from West Virginia University (WVU).
After WVU, Dr. Raftoyiannis joined the Civil and Geological Engineering Department at
the University of Manitoba in Canada.
Dr.
Raftoyiannis gained broad-based research and field
experience through participation in many civil and
mechanical engineering projects conducted in both the United
States and Greece. His professional career
has involved the analysis and
design of concrete and fiber-reinforced plastic systems.
In his academic career, Dr.
Raftoyiannis has participated in research
projects on steel structures, buckling, dynamics of
structures and chaos, composite materials and finite
element analysis. His credits include more than 20
scientific publications, and he has presented research
work in national and international seminars
and conferences.
